Vertices® Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Module brings you unprecedented levels of accuracy and convenience. Using ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID volser labels from Imation (other manufacturers are available), the Vertices RFID Module can capture tape information from as much as six feet away for individual cartridges and up to two feet away for cartridges contained in transport cases. And with the Symbol MC9090G handheld RFID wireless batch scanner, you can perform entire vault inventories in less time than ever before while enjoying the 100% accuracy that Imation's RFID volser labels provide. Plus, you can change the number the RFID label sends out by initializing tags on the fly.

Learn more about Imation's revolutionary UHF RFID volser labels.

It works with your current system.

At the heart of the Vertices RFID solution is the Symbol MC9090G scanner-a dual-format scanner that easily works with both RFID technology as well as traditional tape cartridge bar code volser labels. The dual compatibility allows users to immediately enjoy the benefits of RFID technology without having to revamp their entire bar code-based system.

In addition, the Imation UHF RFID volser labels also contain bar code information so you can use them with older systems.

Keeping your data safe, secure and always at your fingertips.

One of the more exciting features of the Vertices RFID solution is a proactive "search" function that quickly locates cartridges by searching for their RFID signal. Simply enter a cartridge number (or series of numbers) into the MC9090G handheld and begin scanning the area. The scanner will notify you when you are close to the missing or misplaced tape.

Moreover, you can also create watch lists. Watch lists are similar to the search function but perform in a more passive way, identifying out-of-sequence or missing tapes as you go about your daily tape management routine.
