B&L Moves Job Scheduling to the Web
NEEDHAM, Mass. - May 3, 2005 - B&L Associates, Inc., a leader in data center operation support software, today announced the release of a Web-enabled version of BL/SCHED®, their industry-leading job scheduling and monitoring system software.
Running on the Unisys MCP Platform and at home with both legacy and open systems, this new version of BL/SCHED offers unprecedented flexibility for scheduling and monitoring operations. And its more intuitive interface not only makes BL/SCHED easier to use, but it also drastically reduces the time it takes to train new users.
The new BL/SCHED is accessible from virtually any computer with an Internet connection, allowing users to remotely:
- View all hosts running BL/SCHED jobs and instantly access all of BL/SCHED's features
- Gain a comprehensive view of your entire job including job type, name, system information, and more
- Easily revise or delete jobs
- Quickly find specific schedules using BL/SCHED's detailed search parameters
And with processing details clearly shown on the bottom of the menu, users will know exactly when a job was added or modified.

BL/SCHED can initiate and maintain message handling across two or more hosts with the standard TCP/IP port handling.Enhanced Job Activity Retentions
Users can keep job history as long as they need without using excessive disk space. Historical events (BOJ's/EOJ's, BOT's/EOT's, System Displays, File Usage Statistics, etc.) can be categorized at a job level and different categories can be retained for different periods.
