Vertices' New Feature Makes Scratch Media Use More Efficient

Building on Vertices' existing and extensive vaulting pattern functionality, the "Move After Scratch" function allows users of Vertices to automatically move their tapes back to the originating location from the offsite vault once the data on the tape has expired. To ensure absolute accuracy, Vertices Automation Agents automatically capture the expiration date from VERITAS, LEGATO, HP, Computer Associates, Syncsort, and BakBone backup applications.

New Updates Make BL/SCHED® Even Easier to Use

B&L Associates, Inc., a leader in data center operation support software, today announced the availability of BL/SCHED 4.5, the multi-platform, enterprise-wide job scheduling system. In keeping with the company's "Stay. Go. Or Combine." campaign, this release of BL/SCHED moves away from its mainframe interface to a more intuitive, web-based interface, with plans for the rest of the application to move to an open environment in 2005. In addition, the new version of BL/SCHED is able to schedule and report on Windows jobs.

Vertices Now Available for Windows 2003

B&L Associates Inc., a leader in open systems media management software, announced the availability of the Vertices® tape management system for Microsoft Windows 2003 users. The new version of Vertices, which can be hosted on any Windows 2003 Professional, Server or Advanced Server platform, controls the movement, management and retrieval of removable tapes and other media from any source, including legacy Windows platforms, UNIX, Linux and mainframe systems.
