B&L Associates Releases Vertices 5.2 and Offers Free Upgrade to Existing Customers

NEEDHAM, MA - August 30, 2010- B&L Associates, Inc., the leader in open systems tape management solutions, announced the release of Vertices 5.2, the newest version of their flagship tape and media management software solution.

Available with an intuitive Web-based interface like previous versions, Vertices 5.2 provides better inventory reconciliation, as well as more flexibility and more control over how the tape information is stored, manipulated, and tracked. This latest iteration is also being provided as a free upgrade to customers and can be downloaded at http://www.bandl.com/support/index.asp.

Some of the key highlights to Vertices 5.2 Web interface include:

  • Ability to move media based on calendar date
  • New reconciliation features allow you to scan the media at your offsite vendor, onsite facility, or take a report from your offsite vendor and compare that list against a site in Vertices
  • All reconciliation discrepancies, successful scans, and resolutions are journalized for auditing purposes
  • Media can now be more easily identified as encrypted, needing further research, or virtual
  • Download even more information to your Motorola MC3000 batch scanner including user, sites, slots, and media
  • Drop-down menus on the Motorola MC3000 scanner make using it quicker and more efficient
  • More easily discover the purge date of a particular piece of media
  • More efficient synchronization between you and your offsite vendors
