B&L Associates Releases Vertices 5.0 and Provides Free Upgrades to Customers.
NEEDHAM, MA - OCTOBER 10, 2008 - B&L Associates, Inc., the leader in open systems tape management solutions, today announced the release of Vertices 5.0, the newest version of their flagship tape and media management software solution. Based on feedback from their customers, the new features of Vertices 5.0 provide users with greater flexibility, control and convenience. This latest iteration is also being provided as a free upgrade to customers.
Vertices built its reputation by providing data center personnel complete control over all the media in an enterprise with a single, easy-to-use application. This promise is extended even further with the new Web-based access of Vertices 5.0. Accessible from any computer with an Internet connection, Vertices 5.0 allows data center personnel to track, manage, protect and locate their tapes and other mission-critical media from virtually any computer, day or night.

Built on a .NET 2.0 framework, Vertices 5.0 allows users to create customized fields, archive movement lists and set email alerts. In addition, Vertices 5.0 not only provides users with more granular reporting tools, but also makes it easier to print out and export the results of those reports. This is especially helpful for organizations concerned about tape audit compliancy.
The announcement of Vertices 5.0 comes on the heels of several new features for Vertices, including Vertices RFID, a new radio frequency identification system. B&L is also promising even more new features in the coming months.
