B&L ANNOUNCES NEW FEATURES FOR BL/SCHED
NEEDHAM, Mass. - February 26, 2003 - B&L Associates Inc. today announced new features for BL/SCHED®, their industry-leading job scheduling and monitoring system software for Unisys MCP-based processors. Responding to customer feedback, the new features will make BL/SCHED more compatible with today's systems.
The most anticipated new feature is the Windows interface, allowing a powerful range of BL/SCHED's features to be extended to Windows jobs. Now, BL/SCHED customers can initiate, track and monitor jobs on Windows-based platforms directly from BL/SCHED. Customers will also enjoy the familiar online inquiries and comprehensive prediction and recap reporting for Windows job activity.
"Many of our customers told us that they wanted to take advantage of BL/SCHED's robust features for their Windows-based systems. Now, the addition of the Windows interface to BL/SCHED, as well as the other new features, will give our customers the flexibility and tools they need to be their most productive," said Len DiCarlo, B&L's CIO.

Unisys SPO™ Interface
For data centers using Unisys SPO (Single Point Operation), BL/SCHED now interfaces with this software, allowing alerts, selected by the user, to be issued directly to SPO.Multi-Host Processing via TCP/IP
BL/SCHED can initiate and maintain message handling across two or more hosts with the standard TCP/IP port handling.Job Group Processing
Schedulers can reduce the maintenance of related jobs by organizing them into a single job group. Groups can then be easily re-scheduled and even added or deleted with a single transaction.Enhanced Job Activity Retentions
Customers can keep job history as long as they need without using excessive disk space. Historical events (BOJ's/EOJ's, BOT's/EOT's, System Displays, File Usage Statistics, etc.) can be categorized at a job level and different categories can be retained for different periods.
